Blue Mirror Insights is a specialist green skills consultancy and author of The Green Edge newsletter.

Blue Mirror Insights (BMI) is a specialist green skills consultancy.  Initially established in 2017 to support technical and vocational training (TVET) development projects for clients in the UK and the Middle East, BMI now focuses on identifying and documenting the skills we need for the Green Economy and Net Zero.


In 2021, BMI created The Green Edge newsletter with the aim of building a valuable reference library for green skills education in the UK and beyond.

Dr Michael Cross

Co-founder and Director

Michael is an experienced occupation researcher and analyst and has held roles at several universities (Durham, City University, Manchester Business School, Technical Change Centre/Imperial College, and the London School of Economics) and has written numerous papers and books on occupation content and job design.


He is currently a Founder and Director of Rezatec Ltd (a data products business using satellite and EO data to support decision making in agriculture, forestry, infrastructure and water); a Regent of the University of Edinburgh; Director of Twyford Church of England Academies Trust (we run four secondary schools in West London); and is a Freeman of the City of London.


Fraser Harper

Co-founder and Director

Fraser is a writer, consultant, project manager and data specialist with wide experience in helping clients leverage their human and data assets for best business value.  Originally trained in aeronautical engineering, he has worked across a range of complex business and technical environments, including government, space and defence, energy and commodity trading, legal and financial services, upstream and downstream oil, metals production, CPG and process sectors.


Fraser is based in Portsmouth, UK and combines his work for BMI and The Green Edge with videomaking and playing the blues.
